Caciotta is a goat's milk cheese made only with milk from the pastures of Sardinia.  

It is small, weighing only 600 grams, round and has the round heel typical of traditional Sardinian cheeses. It is the perfect size for bringing the whole caciotta to the table and slicing it on the spot, so that all the flavour is preserved and you can enjoy the aroma of the first cut. The rind is smooth, straw yellow and has a waxed appearance because the surface has been treated with a preservative. Capretto is a soft semi-hard cheese. The paste is smooth, white and has few holes.  

Capretto is soft, consistent, creamy in the mouth and has a fine, fresh taste. It can be eaten plain and is excellent for making sandwiches, as an accompaniment to bread of all kinds, cold meats, salads and fresh vegetables.
