Frantoi Cutrera - known worldwide for extra virgin olive oils  

The Cutrera family has specialised in the cultivation of olive trees and the production of extra virgin olive oil for many generations. With a lot of passion, commitment and enthusiasm, the family business pursues the goal of producing excellent oils with outstanding nutritional values.  

Foundation of the company  

As early as 1906, the Cutrera family began cultivating and caring for their olive trees in a small town in Sicily - namely in Chiaramonte Gulfi. In his younger years, the head of the family, Giovanni Cutrera, already worked in a stone oil mill and finally decided in 1979 to found his own oil mill together with his wife Maria. All three children joined the family business and in 1999 the second oil mill was opened. A year later, the three children took over the business and successfully tried to get the oil produced into local sales. The third generation has also been involved in the family business for several years now, so that its continuity is assured.  

The Frantoi Cutrera olive oil production in detail  

The taste, nutritional value, appearance and consistency of the oils produced by Frantoi Cutrera are primarily due to careful production. For centuries, harvesting has been done exclusively by hand to avoid damaging the delicate fruit before milling. The oil mill, which manages more than 50 hectares of olive groves, is equipped with two operating plants and three oil extraction lines. There is also an oil storage facility and a modern bottling plant. Thanks to this modern technology, the oil can be exported to more than 30 countries around the world. All processing phases are closely monitored. Due to the three extraction lines, the extraction technique can always be adapted to the variety and the degree of ripeness of the olives, which ensures intense and fruity oils. The production is done by pure cold extraction within six hours after harvesting to preserve the full aroma of the olives. Only Pieralisi machines are used in the production process - the world leader in the production of oil machines. This also ensures the maximum quality of all Frantoi Cutrera oils. 

Frantoi Cutrera oil - multiple awards  

This careful production pays off: Again and again, Frantoi Cutrera olive oil receives awards - whether in the olive oil guide "Flos Olei" or in the competition in Los Angeles. In 2011, the Sicilian oil was named test winner by the magazine DER FEINSCHMECKER in a comparison of more than 750 oils. In total, the oil has already received more than 170 awards, making Frantoi Cutrera one of the most frequently awarded olive oil producers in the world. The fact that the oil repeatedly emerges as the comparison and test winner in independent comparisons and the high level of customer satisfaction all over the world speak a clear language and confirm the excellent quality and outstanding taste of the oil.
